    directing Directing a Film.

As to your question, we don't know what kind of project you are talking about. Is it a commercial, a music video, a short, a feature, an industrial documentary, a play, something else? It also depends on who is hiring. Is it a friend, a professional producer, etc.?

I look at this thread and click on your name. This pop up box appears. I don't know what the "D" stand for, but Send DM means you want to send a private message to another member, using this pop up box. Next, I click on Z-Art-Tone in that same box, and the screen below appears. I can now...

    Film Makers and Websites

I don't have time to work on a music video, but I have many links to my movies and trailers, in my Profile - "About" section. I wish more members would link to their work.

A film in 24 hours challenge!

Do you talk to your girlfriend with that voice? That was informative and nicely produced.

Absolutely. Especially during Covid distancing protocols. We had our actors do table reads on Zoom calls. Did a few filmmaker meetings on Messenger video. Was able to show my producer my edit timeline, artwork, etc.

    DRONE DOWN

I have a saying, and I know you know this - Filmmaking is crisis management. Sets are mine fields, and problems are the norm. If you don't encounter major obstacles, then something is wrong or you're incredibly lucky . Covid (original and Delta) had me wondering if this was going to...

    DRONE DOWN

One note of interest: There were some issues (including a Covid family death) that came up with the girl playing the lead, Nia. I knew there was a chance she might get sidelined, so I hired Noha Amer, who also read for both Nia and the EMT parts, to be on the crew. That way, I could have her...

    DRONE DOWN

That is a great description. It's a fine line, but it's a style that I use in almost all of my work. In this case, a bit more so. Michael Kearney heard I was making this, so he asked if he could write a script from my story. Since I'm also working on EVIL DWELLS WITHIN, which Michael is...

This is awful. I'll try and shoo some good luck and fortune to both your ways. Hang in there.

    Machine Learning Teaser Trailer (2021)

I like the music and the tone. I couldn't understand a word, though. But, I think I get it. The AI is learning and becoming dangerous. The look reminds me a bit of the H.A.L. 9000. I would watch this in a heartbeat.

Alchoholism, and the Myriad Benefits of a Trainwreck Persona

πŸ‘πŸ‘ In both of my cases, it had to do with the other investor not getting their way with the story. With TERRARIUM, the co-investor wanted to inject derivitive bits of comedy, such as a Russian astronaut quoting American rap (like BEHIND ENEMY LINES), and another astronaut taking the wrong drug...

Okay, I should have said Jenga blocks, or something else stackable.

    DRONE DOWN

High up in the cliffs by Las Vegas, we wrapped on day 9. As you can see, a lot of the cast/crew are wearing hoodies and sweaters, because high altitude is nice and cool, compared to 110 degrees + in the low desert. Just 35 minutes from my house, which is handy. EDIT: I just found the...

Alchoholism, and the Myriad Benefits of a Trainwreck Persona

SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION is my model for what goals can be achieved. Andy used a small rock chisel to carve through a huge swath of concrete, in 20 years. The X factor was "Time." This is how I look at my day job; I don't make much, but I can save a bit here and there. Once in a while, I get...

crew Why is it so difficult to find collaborators for a project?

I agree with you and Mlesemann. You should pay "something." Otherwise, people start peeling away, and you get the resentment that you refer to. You don't have to answer, but I'm guessing you're talking about N. California group that J.C. was a part of. And, in New Mexico, you probably ran...
