It's pretty easy to sync sound as long as both microphones are recording the same conversation, so you can line up waveforms. If each of them has 1/2 the conversation, it could be tricky. Why don't you buy 1 Zoom H2 (I've read some bad reviews on those things, BTW), and a 2 channel wireless...

One more note about memory cards; they are often just for storage of still images and configuration data, not for video. The video cameras that use standard memory cards, probably record with very limited/poor quality.

Are you committed to shooting HD? The trouble with these HDV camcorders, as I understand it, is that they're packing more pixels onto the same size sensor, which means the pixels are smaller. Smaller pixels collect less light. I haven't tested this theory, but I'd think you could get better...
