cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

I think the guy in the vid just put it on there for demo purposes.. I would just put the cage from the shoulder rig on the tripod. I want the ability to go from shoulder to tripod quickly. My subjects are 1%'ers, so I don't want to be futzing around and having people wait while I re-equip for...

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Did you guys see this field monitor. I found the vid helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAQxzmLHR2U hmm.. I'm going to clarify how I found it helpful just in case, this is where I learned that the Hdmi out on the T2i was not 1080 when recording.. so it helped me rule out some options.

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Hahah, it was cool Steve dropped by for sure. I have to give them credit, they have the best site (to me and my skill level) of all the rigs I've seen sofar.. The videos helped me a lot when it came to what I need on a rig.

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

A quick note, I did pull the trigger on a new T3i, and Jag Field Runner, with a tripod plate. I was very torn with CPM products. I really liked the CPM cubed shoulder cage... but I found myself trying to balance a fixed budget between the t2 with CPM, or a t3 with the jag35. I just could...

Very cool of you to sound in Steve!.. Damn, that is service.

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

I saw that too.. One of the blogs used this as an argument to suggest buying the cheap $28 dollar external monitor instead of the lilliput. Honestly, i think I will avoid an external monitor for now. Maybe, I will get the eyepiece thingy.. Hrm. I dunno.. and then the damn t3i has a swivel...

ahh I see the Jag 35 has a base plate too..

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Daaamn! that looks pretty perfect.. Haha, and I was just starting to check out the jag35 field runner. The sidewinder looks pretty damn killer, because I dont see how the field runner would connect to a tripod. The only rub for the sidewinder is his comment on the flex built into the plate...

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Hahha, nice.. Well, it seems decent enough in principle.. and it would free me up to have a tad better rig budget. I am starting to like the CPM film tools rig, but I am having trouble deciding... I'm tall, so if I keep the camera at eye level, it's often too high for my subject, so I was...

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Thanks for the post CV.. thats exactly what I was getting wary about.. If I start fiddling with zoom, and focusing, I'm sure to be on the road to sadness fairly quickly. I am going to start watching for deals on prime canon lenses. I think.. I am best off going with 'less but better'...

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Thanks Phil, the more I read, the more I conclude I have underestimated what it took to film with DSLR. ... hah, I really thought I could clip on my rode, maybe buy a grip and go to town.. I really did not plan on spending 900+ on a rig and external monitor hahaha.. which I am sure is an...

cinematography t2i- Focusing, action, and budget rig?

Heya all, I'm transitioning from an Xacati 1010HD to the Canon T2i for shooting a low budget music video. The first thing I am concerned with, I understand I will be manually focusing the t2i. I also plan on filming action, mud bogging, wake boarding etc... I need a budget rig that will let...

    Greetings

Thanks for the kind words, I am happy to answer any questions I can. In most recent years, I did efforts in Ben Button, T4, Prince of Persia, and Sorcerers Apprentice right now. Some are just set extensions, some are concept art, and some are matte painting.

    archived-videos Moonshine Bandits project

Greetings, Thank you for bearing with me while I take my first few steps into this project. Let me start by saying this is my first attempt at video/film. My background has always been on the concept art and matte painting side of film and I finally wanted to see the image from the other...

Ears and eyes =). Which forum would you suggest for rougher type clips? It seems like the Showcase forum has more polished work than I have.

    Greetings

I do have a quick question, I'm at a minor loss for where to post my rough clips for insight. The work is heading towards a documentary/show about the rigors of a band in the indie country/rap scene. I've got several 2 minute spots that capture some moments on youtube, and I plan on slowly...

    Greetings

Greetings all, I am glad I found the community here. I'm a concept artist and matte painter by trade, but I find myself slowly getting into the basics of video and micro productions. I really hope to improve and learn some techniques while still retaining the ability to be a one man show and...
