We're Off! ...and other updates about me.

Very true...Even when I have my Vegas monitor tuned to the Draft (Auto) setting, it can be choppy, and then yeah like you said- I rendered a simple 7-8 second clip with the Mexicali preset and rendered it as an MPEG-2.......sheesh...took a long time. It doesn't help that I don't have a...

I'm not dead... and Public Domain?

Hey all, Man, I haven't posted in awhile. I know it must've been so difficult, but it's okay now... there, there. :P Anyways, I was wondering- does anyone know of a good website that has open domain plays and the like, I may end up having some free time this semester to adapt one in video...

    XL2 or DVX100A?

I'm not sure which I like better. I use a DVX100A almost everyday but there are some seriously nice film-style upgrades, etc on the XL2

    Panasonic 3ccd gs-120 or gs200 Compare to Cannon GL2

Well, the GL2's CCDs are much larger, weighing in at 1/4" while the GS200 only has 1/6" CCDs. The GL2 also has a 30p mode for a cinematic framerate effect. They're both great cameras, but the GL2, imho, is much better. By the way, there are some great stereo input mics. BTW, your plan sounds...

    True Filmmaking

Nique, Thank you very much for your comments. I feel I should clarify something When I said 'the medium simply record and displays the amount of effort everyone truly put in' I didn't mean we should forget the medium altogether; obviously there needs to be a medium in order for it to be a...

    True Filmmaking

Here's my theory to filmmaking: The video does not make the film. The film does not make the film. The people who come in every day and without question do their best to make a story realized: the directors, writers, producers, actors, musicians, editors, lighting, cinematographers, art...

editing Best user friendly editing program for PC

Wait up a sec. Vegas Movie Studio is different than Vegas. It's like a strip-down version of Vegas built for home camcorders. I recommend that if you have a little bit more cash, go for actual Vegas 5.

Yeah, I learned Vegas in an hour. It's a great tool. Of course, you should also try and learn Avid Free DV that way if you decide to purchase a nice Avid system someday, you'll know how to use it.
