    realistic hanging

Wow - great little tip. Is it a SAG production? I imagine if you have your actor in there - you need to have your insurance up to date - and you may want to use a stuntman for the actual movement of the hanging. You should have a stunt coordinator on set too. Good luck!

    Street Permit

Pretty easy to get a permit. You will have to have liability insurance. Your better off getting production insurance for the year, rather than for a few weeks ... it pays off.

    Using people without consent?!?!

Then, everyone will be looking around for the camera, and you'll have weird white signs in your shot. :?

    Using people without consent?!?!

Ever watch a reality show, like Jackass, and you see all of the people, except one person's face is pixelated to hide his identity. That's the person who did not consent, but they still used the shot. You don't want to pixelate your film do you? Get consent from all your extras.

    shooting-film 35mm movie developing

Dabbled? lol. I always shoot film, never dabbled in video, different labs have different prices, but you can expect to pay (depending on lab): 13 - 24 cents per ft. processing 4 cents per foot to prep for video (for video dailies) 18 - 24 cents per foot to transfer to video (for video dailies)...

I need some movies to watch!

Another good Scorsese student film is "The Shave", and yes, Jarmusch's first film was "Permanent Vacation". I would recommened "Down By Law" by Jarmusch also, but study Andy Warhol films if you want to see true low budget.
