what video games could make great movies?

I think that of all the games with an actual storyline that you can follow, Halo:Combat Evolved could make a pretty damn good movie.

what video games could make great movies?

Over the years we've seen countless video game based movies that fall flat (or suck balls). Are there any games out there that COULD make a great, enjoyable movie that remains dedicated to the game it was inspired by?

    editing Low on memory?????

I use sony vegas too, and for some reason the only video format that it will take is AVI, which I think is the video format that takes up the most memory. So for me just formatting a single day's shoot takes alot of working around to fit it all my laptop.

any tips for creating creepy lighting to a dark scene?

This might reveal how much experience I don't have (I've only made one short before the current one I'm working on) but what do you mean by 'gelled blue'? Is it something you put on the light?

any tips for creating creepy lighting to a dark scene?

For a scene in my movie, the characters are in a safehouse when two Lickers (creatures from Resident Evil) break into the house. There is no electricity so the scene will be dark. But the camera won't see anything if its dark. (Duh) I've done scenes in the dark before with added lighting but...

Should I scout locals first, or after I write the screenplay?

This may sound like a stupid question (and probably is) but would it be best to scout filming locations before or after the screenplay is written? I hate to write a scene into a movie then find that there is no logical place to shoot it.

How long should the credits be in a short film?

what if the opening credits appear during the beginning of the movie, as in on the actual footage?

    anyone willing to volunteer?

I wasn't going for anything too articulate, the viewer wouldn't see it for more than a couple of darkly lit shots. The Jaw and neck movements I plan to have done with simple hand puppeteering and having two others controlling the arms (with sticks). The fingers probably won't have any...

anyone out there good at realistic puppetry effects?

Going off topic but-you really worked with on John Carpenter's The Thing?? What did you do on it?!? Ahem...now that that is out of the way, I guess that right now I'm looking for tips and things, because as of right now until we get more money the budget is, well ZERO.

anyone out there good at realistic puppetry effects?

That would be much appreciated! I would need it before December, and it would need to be I don't know, from the torso up, big enough for a guy to stick his arm in and control the mouth, head, and torso movements I guess. I'll know how much I'm willing to pay once I get more money, but an...

anyone out there good at realistic puppetry effects?

For my movie (a Resident Evil fan film) I plan to have a Licker killing someone in the dark. For the three or four shots the Licker will actually be seen, I figure that a realistic puppet would do the trick. (For those of you who have seen John Carpenter's The Thing the dog thing in the...

a shout out to all Resident Evil fans out there

I am making a RE fan film (based off of the video games, not the movies) and in order to bring the Licker, Las Plagas, and many other creatures to the screen I am in need of funding. So I humbly ask that all that wish to contribute to the making of this movie please donate a few dollars. I'm...

how should I post my movie?

actually it was more like ... "here watch this link to movie" and I would copy that message and paste it after saying hello. lol

    anyone willing to volunteer?

For my movie, I need someone (or some people) who would be willing to help create a puppet effect for a creature that is in my movie. For anyone that is interested in helping out in any way, I will tell you that the creature I need to create is a Licker from the RESIDENT EVIL game series...

how should I post my movie?

the first short movie (17 mins. long) I posted on youtube as one movie. Its gotten about 240 views in four months. Does anyone know if posting a video in small segments is better and will bring in more views, or do I simply need to do somehting else to raise attention to my videos?

Coming to Terms (or scaling down film making expectations)

I have felt the same way that you do. I know that, as a kid in high school, the films I'm making right now are just for the [I]joy[I] of knowing that I accomplished something that I wanted to accomplish, not what my parents wanted me too. But eventually, I think I'll get around to Lone Starr's...
