My DIY Wii Wheel Steady cam.

Not bad but if you ever want to expand up to something bigger for a bigger camera I'd suggest PVC.

Best way to get a GH2?

Oh wow I did not know about that blackmagic pocket camera, only $1000, that aint too shabby. Almost seems like an upgraded Sony NEX 5n

Best way to get a GH2?

Now that the GH2 has been discontinued for quite awhile, I was just curious if you guys got any tips for picking up a GH2. I searched around for a while but couldn't find anything exactly pertaining to this topic on this forum. So is eBay literally all that's left? Because that is the only thing...

sound Sun Glasses and boom op refelctions

IMO you should never really have an actor wearing sunglasses for extended periods of time on screen. It causes problems like you are having and the audience can't see their eyes which is a big part of interactions and what not.

archived-videos HYPER REAL COLOURS/NUDITY A NSFW MUSIC VIDEO

Nice I liked it, thought it was pretty tight and fit the music well. The last shots of the regular people at the beach or lake or whatever felt a little out of place after all the other stuff.

    Messing with Cameras Now

The focus on your subjects is kinda soft a lot of the time. Episode 0 they were both out of focus as they were practicing. Episode 1 the guy you were interviewing had a soft focus as well. Some of the other clips in episode 1 were better though and I liked having the voice of the interview over...

    Stabbing affect problems.

Shoot two shots without moving the camera even an inch. Do a clean shot with nothing in it but the background. Then have your regular shot and mask out the parts you don't want. With your clean background shot underneath. You need something like After Effects to do this.

    5D3 v. GH2

If you have time go out and mess around with the 5D and do some comparisons and see how it feels for you. If you literally don't even have an hour or two to spare then just go with whats comfortable as Will said.

    Looking to practice Editing

I actually have a stock video pack on my website that includes some practice footage of a conversation scene. You are free to use it. http://clickityclow.com/featured/stock1/ The audio wasn't very good on some of the clips but I guess that could help you figure out ways to use the sound from...

editing See through doors (Kill Bill 1 style)

Looks good to me, only thing I see is the guy on the right, his head seems to go in front of the door handle thing which gives it a weird feeling.

Planning a plan on how to properly plan

Yeah you're definitely right and I agree with you, I think in my blog I made it seem as if I wanted to have a picture and make it exactly that. What I really want is to be able to plan according to the available resources I have, like you suggested finding that compromise. Because what I've...

Planning a plan on how to properly plan

Yeah I've seen your thread around and really been wanting to go through the whole thing from start to finish. I haven't really had the time or dedication lately though. I will get to it before my next project though

Planning a plan on how to properly plan

Yeah right now my crew is so small that it isn't necessary, basically only have one guy doing sound stuff and another guy working the camera. As well as the main two of us that write and direct the whole thing and we are both involved in the whole writing process and what not. Still would...

Yeah I agree with you funk but still it's friggen awesome. I mean I feel like it would make sense but we shall see in the future.

    Pre-Production Software - NOT Celtx

This is what I was going to suggest too. He has a ton of great stuff for free. Obviously not full fledged software that is the industry standard but it's all free and legal. I haven't used the stuff on his site myself but I've looked through it. Besides screenplays and shot and lighting scripts...

Planning a plan on how to properly plan

Well I wrote a blog post on my website talking about how I am planning now on how to properly plan for my upcoming films. Here is the link for it, I will copy paste the main parts for it into here but just in case you wanna check it out...

    lighting Affordable light set?

You set your camera to manual white balance, you get something like a big white foam board and put it into the center of your scene with the lighting conditions that your actors are going to be in. Then you fill the frame of your camera with the white board and press the set white balance. The...

    Canon 50mm 2.5 Macro

The aperture thing may be the only problem now but who knows, there might be more going on and one wrong movement of the lens and it could get worse. 30 bucks you could go check out pawn shops and garage sales and try and find a steal for some vintage glass if you really wanted.
