    Vintage Lenses

wheat - I don't have any frame grabs, but what I meant by "dreamy" was (and I notice this most on the 28mm) that things seem to have soft edging, and kind of glow as well? I did notice it was sharper the other day shooting at a higher stop... I think you may have hit the nail on the head with...

    Vintage Lenses

I have a question for others who use vintage lenses. I bought a little package off ebay (old film camera, aus jena 50mm, bushnell 28mm, and vivitar 85-205) for around $60. They're all older lenses, and M42 mount. I got an adapter and have been using them, etc. My question - Do all vintage...

cinematography Is canon 5D/7D better camera than Panasonic HPX?

I have used all three. (I now own a 7D) I personally like the 7D/5D more. -You have to buy P2 cards with the HPX (expensive cards) -7D/5D has interchangeable lenses -More creative focus control on the DSLR's as well Like Directorik said, alot of it is preference.

    Settle an argument.

Thanks for all your input guys. Another question on this topic... Is shelling out the $300 for a Zoom or DR100 worth the better audio for a student filmmaker? I see it as an investment in the future. He says it saves money and time (time being that you don't have to set up another piece of...

Question concerning: Canon 7D, Fotodiox Adapter and old Nikon lenses...

You make sure you match the lens mount to the nikon mount of the adapters you bought. I recently bought a package deal off of ebay with a film camera and 3 lenses. All of the lenses were M42 mount. I made sure of this because I knew adapters for this mount are only about $7. So I now have...

    Settle an argument.

Let's say the field recorder is a Zoom H4n or Tascam DR100 and the camera is a Canon XA10. He wants to know "why is audio supposedly better from an audio recorder?" (this is a quote from him)

    Settle an argument.

A friend of mine and I have an argument going on about audio. I have been telling him you will get better audio from a mic hooked up to a field recorder versus hooking it up to a camera. Can I get some input from you all? (and hopefully Uncle Bob?) THANKS! :P

    Script Rights Question

A few weeks ago, I came across a Shel Silverstein poem (called "Masks") online. For those who don't know it, it goes like this: She had blue skin So did he He kept it hid and so did she they searched for blue their whole life through then it passed right by - and they never knew. I came up...
