archived-videos The Revenge of the Aspie

Could have been better, could have been worse. The acting could have been better, but I think the characters worked. It’s cool you did it in 24 hours, even cooler that it ranked. Hopefully it can also serve as a vehicle through which to discuss and consider ways to make future projects...

archived-videos Short Horror Film (HD) - Hysteria

I agree with Steve, he nails it. In addition, the way she kept her back to the door and didn’t even lock it or arm herself given the circumstances was hard to swallow. Overall it was pretty cool, but I can also see it being edited into something shorter that does the same thing more...

    True inspiration

Pretty cool. To me it serves as a nice reminder that music itself is very much a contraption of useful noise. -Thanks-

    Historical Accuracy

Can you shift things 5 years? (10 in 1985), or are you tied to a specific event in the 80s? If tied to a specific, can you then caricaturize that event within an overtly caricaturized version of the 1980's as a whole, to make it fictionally malleable? EDIT: Didn't see your last post. -Thanks-

Bring the film to the audience (warning: a rant)

Money aside, I think pulling off a 45 show stint is a success all its own. What did you learn not to do? What would do differently or better if you could do it all again? How many miles (states) did you cover? Did you make a doc about doing it as you were doing it? -Thanks-

    Goodbye for Now

I’m torn between the following: A: Wait, come back.. we can change! B: What will we tell the children when they ask? C: Every time you leave it hurts like the first time you said goodbye. D: Good luck. -Thanks-

    Back in the day...

I used to sync with a Roland MC 500 to Tascam 4 and 8 tracks, both of which were great back in 1986. The sad part is I was still doing it till just a few years ago. -Thanks-

    Jello Cam becomes spring cam

I have no clue, so it might sound insane (Oh well), but is it maybe like the lens can rotate for optimal mounting or it has a feature to gather the image at various mounted angles, so in effect the sensor’s position might be on it's side as a result? (Or is that what you are saying you suspect...

    cinematography scene?

Might not be perfect just yet, but to me it’s far better than the 1st image. I wouldn’t mind seeing maybe a little picture frame by the bed or a mirror or something in the background that is catching a reflection of light which represents the window. Could be just the light through a window...

    Slider

It’s no where near as good as a linear bearing slider, and I wouldn’t suggest using an on camera mic with one, but otherwise it’s pretty quiet. It’s a fairly precision bearing movement with no real weight on it, so there isn’t much to make noise. -Thanks-

    Slider

You might have a hardcore DIY fever. Even I’ve never looked up drawer slides online, I tip my hat to you sir. (Find anything cool?) -Thanks-

    Need fundraising advice

I don’t know what you are looking for, but as a 1st impression I echo what has already been said. Being a bit too casually lit and audio with a hum in to doesn’t seem the best foot forward in confidence inspiring pitch. Those things aside, the death blow is me taking time to watch...

    help finishing the short

How about both brothers are in the store (one in line, the other suddenly busying himself once walking in and finding the cop) then when the clerk asks for ID it’s a few beats of “Oh damn!”. The brother that isn’t in line witnesses the clerk ask for the ID and is creeping up, eye on the cop’s...

archived-videos The Great Big Fight - Sketch Film

For me watching it with the outlet of TV in mind made the length much more understandable and easier to accept (plus there was a story in this one), but I can see how shorter pieces with the same pace of story might also be good for TV or internet. It’s pretty crazy and fun for low budget...
