I gotcha. I on the other hand am all about doing the best possible or the closest thing to it lol. But I plan on shooting my first short on March 18, so we will see.

Good idea. The fact that you are trying and learning as you go is the best way to do it. Funny thing is that I havent film anything cause I'm still trying to learn as much as possible in order to have a better-than-decent product when it is done. I gotta take your mentality and shoot lol.

I read the comments on YouTube and they were all "man that was great, that was neat", and those comments don't help you any. You don't get better from positive feedback, you do from constructive criticism. What kind of camera and mic setup are u using? Did u use any extra lighting?

If a shadow was an issue, shoot at an upwards angle where the shadow won't be seen. Glad I was able to help lol. Joey

    archived-videos Shoot Out

Hey man, I'm a fan of your short comedies and I think this one is the best so far ;) Now for the "how could I get better part" -- Right off the start, when your taller actor takes the first step, you can tell he was queued into it. Reason why? Well he took a right step, even though his right...

Okay I'll be totally honest; you had some nice shots and it seems like a cool idea, but overall it didn't pull me in. The girl seemed like she was thinking about her lines for the most part and the guy taking off his shirt for a simple cut was ridiculous. Also you didn't really explain the whole...

Nope lol. Is telling me my device is not a "listed one". Weird cause I'm using an HTC Incredible phone. No biggie I'll go home later and use something else.

    archived-videos 48 Hour film challenge - Tape

I liked the short. Great job for a 48hr project. As stated above, the shakiness of the camera was a bit off-putting but all else worked for me. Have you considered investing or making a simple sreadicam? I made one from parts I found around my job and it works really well. All for less than 15$.

Actually the last one he worked on was "fast five". I guess one of his motorcycles got paid more than him lol.

The bay shots are going to be really difficult. Even on the best of nights(when there is no moon) you only get to see a soft led'ish glow on the water that lasts merely seconds if that. Plus there will be lots of people... I'm not sure what u were planning for it. If you need a PR person to...

archived-videos Check out our new Proof of Concept trailer for The Unknown!

I was born in PR and El Yunque is nothing but breathtaking. Incredible scenery, sounds and nature. The waterfall I'm talking about actually has 3 different pools and at the very top of the mountain is a humongous rock sitting there, and if you forget the fact the rock is prob 20 tons, you would...

Congrats on the awesome news!!! If you are going to Puerto Rico's El Yunque Rainforest and you need/want a waterfall shot -- there are 2 waterfalls in El Yunque. One you see around the tourist stops and its nice. But the best one is at the end of the road, seriously the road ends 25 feet from...

editing Helpfull video for audio noobs

Hey everyone, while searching on YouTube for filming tips I came across this really great video that deals with "hums and hisses" and how to get rid of them in editing. I'm a total noob and I found the information really helpfull so I wanted to pass it along for others who are just learning...

    archived-videos Attic (Horror Short)

Wait, you made that when you were 11? Man that's great... I liked the feel of it and the shots were really good, especially the one that follows the string/puller for the stairs. The lighting could had been better, but with no preparation as you said, it's a great short.

    archived-videos i too have a webseries

Ahh not my type of funny... Another thing I noticed and something that always bothers me, when an actor is getting slapped, please make sure he/she gets slapped -- none of this soft-hearted slap wanna be hit. Good luck with the series. Joey
