    editing FPS and playback speed

    >>Please let me know if I'm completely crazy here After reading this thread, I wouldn't say completely crazy. It sounds like you want to slow down footage to make footage that doesn't exist, suddenly exist.

It's hard to tell if what you're asking doesn't make sense or the crazy option.

actors Have you ever watched any movie with a really sexy character?

I don't think the world doesn't work that way. Like the saying, different strokes for different folks. You can thank your maker that what works for me probably won't work for you. The best piece of advice I can give you: Know your audience. The best you can do is to give them what you believe...

    editing ProRes Quality Loss

How's that? ...and in your picture, it looks like all audio tracks. Unless things have changed recently, ProRes is a picture codec.

    directing Directing crisis

I've been in a similar circumstance before. As an inexperienced director, my guy was screaming that we needed more work on the script. Turns out I was right but I didn't pull the trigger and the film suffered. We're stopping/postponing. Not going to sink good money after bad. It's really that...

    misc Are you brand loyal?

I like quality, but no brand loyalty from me. Either they're right for the job or they're not. None of this square peg in a roung hole.

    software Good video editor/compressor?

That's pretty much how it works. As a general rule of thumb, to have a smaller file size, you need to remove information.... resolution, bitrate.. that combined with math/compression (codecs). It's not really that simple, but that's the jist of it. The trick is to know what is the best tool to...

    software Good video editor/compressor?

That's kind of like saying, "I thought the editing program would edit the movie for me". Software only does what you tell it to do. Transcoding, much like editing, isn't as simple as saying, "Here's the input, output to this filename". Any piece of software which is that simple would be as...

    software Good video editor/compressor?

As for editors, the big ones are Avid, Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut. Take your pick, any of them should be able to serve your needs. They all have some form of render engine. If you put in the right settings, you'll be able to achieve what you need. As for converters/compressors, most of...

    marketing Cold Emails

It'd be great if that was possible, but that's not how the real world works. You always have someone to answer to, whether it be your boss, your customer(s), governments and perhaps even their constituants. If you require more control, do what I do and pick and choose which projects suit your...

    marketing Cold Emails

I can see why you think that. I have the opposite problem. I'm trying to get out and people keep throwing these low budget ($20-30k range) projects at me. I would expect if it was saturated others would pick up the work before they find me. I understand. Why would anyone want to do hard work?

archived-videos My best one so far

Not really the kind of thing that many on this site would have much to do with. I've edited some videos like this for clients and they've always shit me to tears. They're pretty much designed to only be liked by those who have a connection to those involved (family/friends).

legal How do you protect your work?

It's coming across that you're treating this like gold. Be sure not to put the cart before the horse. There's little point in being a writer if you're too afraid to let anyone see your work. If it's that much of a concern, get a good lawyer.
