What about the 1970's Buck Rogers movie with Gil Gerard, which was a backdoor pilot?

series What movie would make a good TV series...

The final scene of "The Day of the Condor" has the assassin telling the Robert Redford character that his work can be satisfying. I had always thought that this was a backdoor pilot, where the assassin would take Robert Redford under his wing and, in the various episodes, go through the...

@directorik The notes I sent to him were works on a historical fantasy, being the legend of King Arthur as set after the fall of Rome. This is inspired by the late Jack Whyte, who lived in British Columbia and whom I met before his untimely passing. Jack didn't seem to believe in magic, but I...

I was thinking of this thread, while reading the other one, and I thought of the Addams Family as a good example. So I reviewed the posts and found that you beat me to it. That movie adaptation was good, and I loved the scene where Mr Addams called the talk show host, who said to stop calling -...

@directorik, what role would you be playing in the production of the movie? The Director of Photography? Surely you wouldn't be Chief Procrastinator - that's my role. My mentor is going to be the Producer, by the way.

You don't have to hear; you just have to read. Have we created a Loop of a different kind? If so, my achievement is without parallel.

@indietalk, you may never have, but the others did. So you would agree that even filming a table read would not be a waste of time? And do you agree that others have said so?

@indietalk, there seems to be some problem with your server, because I had issues seeing it last week. Now, there was again a problem, so I posted my last comment twice. Of course, repeating myself is something I'm good at. 😛

So you're coming to my way of thinking. In other words, even if I film a table read, I'm not wasting my time. And I did say that I was going to do the table read, then do the rehearsals to make the short movie.

This would be a more fitting video for @directorik and me. I've been wanting to do a video about the loop between us. What sticks in my mind about the two of us is our first meeting, when we had breakfast - I asked if he would be willing to take part in my film project, and he said, "You bet!"...

There you go - we have done some filming. Why can you - and everyone else - pull bits and pieces from Youtube or even use emojis, but I can't film simple scenes without being accused of wasting my time ...... after being told repeatedly to film something, anything. Is there a double standard...

Please refer to me as "Counsel", not "Counselor" - the former is the term for a lawyer, and the latter is the term for someone trained in psychology, typically with a masters, who helps those with mental problems. In any case, since the board has been engaged in talking, three battle fleets...

@directorik, not quite April. You may know of the ST: TNG episode, "Cause and Effect", where the ship was caught in a time loop. They got out of the loop when Data realized, in the second-last iteration, what was going on and send a message to himself in the next iteration, so he could take...

First, I'm told to film anything, even if it's horrible; then I'm told that filming what I want to film would be a waste of time. So I'm not the only one contributing to the loop. OK, since I don't want to waste my time, I will have to think about it and get back to you in a couple of months or...

The plan is to film the table read, then the rehearsal, then do the film(s). He also told me what he learned in film school - if you have a script for a $10 million movie, but you only have $2 million, then do the $2 million movie. We discussed it further, and he suggested to turn the scripts...

@directorik, MASH is a great example. As for the Sarah Connor Chronicles, well, Summer Glau was the star, so what would you expect? 😄

Shall we talk about it? 😄 I spoke to my mentor, who is interested and will get involved. He still suggests LA, and he has asked for the drafts, being OK with simple table reads and rehearsals as my starting point. Our face-to-face meeting did wonders for me, as opposed to ...... never mind.
