archived-videos Short Horror film - Feedback please!

I think the cinematography is really good. I like the camera angle used when the photographer arrives home and she enters the front door. The text at the beginning could definitely be excised though, and that would help with the pacing too. When the blurry/double-vision effect is used it is...

What are some good movies to study to learn about filmmaking, no matter which area of interest you have? Some of the movies I think would be good to study are: Back to the Future Die Hard Seven

    Burning Faith-Screenplay Feedback Wanted

The difficulty with films where you have religious characters who are very evangelical about it, is that it can come off as being funny unintentionally, or preachy even when that's not the intent. But I think in this story that has been handled really well. I think that you could turn this into...

    Stuck on a Screenplay

Thanks for your feedback FantasySciFi. A deus ex machina is definitely something I would like to avoid for sure. The Mist is a film that I liked, as well as the ending. I can understand how that ending could prevent people from watching it again though. For this story I want to make sure that...

    Stuck on a Screenplay

@maz - Bit of a down ending lol. @Asad J - Thanks for your advice! I'm currently just at the scene outline stage. This is my first feature length screenplay so I wanted to make sure I had the structure down as best as I can before the first draft.

    Stuck on a Screenplay

@mad_hatter - Thank you for presenting those options. Of the three the one that sticks out to me the most is option b), and since the female villain's superior isn't introduced to the audience until towards the end of the story, I think I might take him out of the story. @maz - The protagonist...

    Stuck on a Screenplay

I know that the reason I'm stuck on this part of my screenplay is because it's not working properly. The thing is that I'm not sure of any solutions and/or replacements as of yet. This takes places in the third act, so everything is going to come to a head. Here's the situation: The...

Does the audience need to know, or can I just imply?

Harmonica Wrote: As someone who doesn't know much exactly about police procedure in the US, it didn't seem sound to me, but coming from an actual officer who would have much, much more knowledge than I do, I would definitely listen to them more than me :)

Does the audience need to know, or can I just imply?

Harmonica wrote: This idea is sound to me. Both are in this mess, they both took the risks knowing that they were high. They wouldn't just let him go without charging him. If he goes in to the station to admit what happened to his superiors they would just arrest him and put him into...

Does the audience need to know, or can I just imply?

Maybe he wants to kill the villains because they killed someone close to him?

Does the audience need to know, or can I just imply?

I'm not sure how you go about your screenplays Harmonica, but have you tried just writing the whole film as if you're writing a novel? Write it all out from beginning to end. Then look at the end of the story and backtrack to the beginning and figure out if what ends up happening matches what...

Does the audience need to know, or can I just imply?

You could do research on real cases to see if there's any that match what you're looking for. Reading about the subjects of forensics is one thing but if you can read about actual cases you might find more specific information.

editing Realities of Editing Work in the Adult Industry?

I was curious to know about how film editors would get work in this industry, and whether it's through a very specific process or if it's similar to how film editors get work in the mainstream film industry?
