When do you need this scene by? If it could wait, what I would do is go to a mall a few weeks before Christmas, when there is a Santa with a line of kids. Get some wide establishing shots of the line, and then shoot your Santa actor later, in close-up.

Weird, I just recently watched this movie and I thought the cinematography/look was astounding. To each their own I suppose...

No dice? Oh well, like I said I was really bored when I made this. I am working on another video with a similar idea, however. This one will actually be thoroughly planned out, and hopefully of higher quality. Stay tuned!

That's pretty lucky! In the states you have the right to film/photograph police officers while they're on duty, but you should definitely check your own country's laws on that!

Hey all! I was bored a few nights ago, so I decided to make a video of my feet. I choreographed where I would go in about 5 minutes, but it took me a few tries to get most of the elements right. I'd love to hear any opinions on the handheld camerawork/focus pulling, and especially the sound...

I was confused, but intrigued! If nothing else it's pretty well-shot.

You can certainly get useable footage out of a 600D (I do, at least), but I would be wary of going too far down the "realism" trap. Just because you're running around with it handheld doesn't mean you will see anything other than a blurry mess when you're done. You have to be able to control...

If I'm not mistaken, the crop factor of the FS100/FS700 is approximately that of the 600D. So why not just use that (unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, of course)?

...Huh? What about the Joker killing Gamble? Or the man burning alive on top of the money? Or the Joker's news footage? Etc. Those instances and a lot more were implied in the Dark Knight. Sure, some of it was to ensure a PG-13 rating, but in my opinion it made it all the more effective...
