archived-videos Music Video - Hood Nizzle

Here's my latest music video for a local rapper named Hood Nizzle for his song "Smoke in my Chest". It's the first rap video I shot and edited entirely. Any feedback would be appreciated http://vimeo.com/101737481 Thanks Paul

editing Importing 4k to Final Cut 7

I have video from a RED ONE that was shot in 4.5k. I want to edit it in Final Cut 7. How do I properly convert this footage to edit in FCP 7 so I can revert it back to 4k for coloring in post and not lose resolution in the process. Thanks

    Squibs for bullet wounds?

Has anyone used squibs for bullet wounds in their movies before? How was the experience? Did you hire someone or DIY? Any risk of injury?

Good wide-angle zoom lens for Canon 5D Mark III?

I use a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. It can be purchased for around $300, which is plenty affordable for a zoom lens. It works very well on my 5D. I highly recommend it for the low f-stop and price. Anything similar for Canon would cost a lot more.

    editing Ghost-like Special Effect

I have a short screenplay which calls for a tricky special effect, and I was hoping I could a little assitance here. The shot is of a ghost-like person reaching through the body of a living person. Sorta like something you'd have seen in the movie Ghost. Does anyone know how I could pull this off?

What do you think of Silent Films?

I think silent movies are boring. I struggle to sit through them, especially if they're a feature. The only exception I have is for Buster Keaton movies. They're usually pretty funny.

    Adobe Primere vs Final Cut

I'm not a huge fan of the Final Cut X workflow. I've been considering switching over to Premiere. It also helps when working with AE already

how much should I charge for a music video?

Sit down with them and discuss it. Throw a number out there. If they don't like it, they'll say so. Then ask what price they had in mind. If that's too little, say so. From there, try to work a happy medium. If that fails tell them you can't produce the kind of quality work to benefit them on...

editing Multicam File Out of Sync?

I was able to do that to convert the fps to 24 like the other clips, but it was still really out of sync. I just marked two points on the clip and used them to decrease the speed to sync up with the other videos. It plays in sync with the other clips and audio at around 80% with a little motion...

editing Multicam File Out of Sync?

I shot a multicam setup with 2 Canon 5D Mark iii and 3 Canon T3i's. I recently imported my footage into my computer and noticed that one of the video files from one of the Canon 5D Mark iii's is not nearly as long as the other 4 files and appears to be sped up out of sync. To add to my headache...

    Opinions on my equipment?

If you don't want to get a lighting kit, a LED light to attach on top of your camera can be cheap and incredibly useful.

    Good catch.

    Opinions on my equipment?

You need a light kit and sound. The zoom h4n is solid with a shotgun mic and headphones. Some red head lights and a softbox kit are both good for lighting. Skip that f/4.5 lens and get a 50mm lens. Get a good cheap Ravelli tripod also. Get some small things like sandbags too. I'd say these are...

I need to dig a hole on someones property, will this be hard?

I know that I sure as heck wouldn't let someone waste my time and dig a big hole on my property for some lousy "special thanks" credit. However, when cash is involved, that's a much different story. lol
