    lighting Flickering Lighting

I have a scene planned out for my upcoming short which involves quite a lot of flickering lights, is there anyway this can be done in post? Or is just easier and better looking if done on set? If so, how can this be done, is there a way the lights can be tweaked to be made to flicker? Do I need...

Wow I owned a hdr 155e once! how the heck did you manage to get such a clear and good quality image?! I didn't even know it was capable of that.

    White Room Effect

j_thompson: hi there! glad to see someone else out there trying to do it too, its proving tough! but i think im going to go with what dlevanchuk linked, as i have never used green screens before i think it might prove risky, and i reckon it would look better and more authentic building it...

archived-videos "Tree Frogs" My first short film

For a first time film, I'd have to say very well done! One of the most professional first shorts I've seen in fact. I'd have to agree with steve on the dialogue, it's a bit cyclical and kinda just goes round on itself, maybe at the end they could have gone out to find the man he paid to kill...

    Quick Lighting Question

I've been looking about for them clamp lights for a while that knightly suggested, but as I am in the UK I am having trouble finding them, and dont fancy how to pay the huge VAT and import fee's of buying from the US, I've find some different variations of the portable ones i posted above...

archived-videos "Voice Message" Short Film | 40 Second Challenge

Interesting, puts across a strong message in 40 seconds which some hollywood films can't even do in 90 minutes

archived-videos Music Video "Deadly Beauty" - Before Dawn (Shot in the Desert)

Nice work, some very nice photography and interesting story, quite a soothing song too! One thing though, the colour seemed a bit off, i cant really pinpoint it, just seems a bit too bright maybe? But overall really nice :)

    White Room Effect

oh man that's a lot of light haha, could be do-able though, although would need to be able to shoot from different angles rather than just front view, but thanks a lot for that, very helpful :)

    White Room Effect

For a short film I've planned, one of the scenes will (hopefully) be shot and set in an all white room. However, I don't really know how to achieve this. I've had a look around the internet and found that either using green/blue screen is the best option, or basically decorating the room in...

    Quick Lighting Question

Basically, would these type of lights be ok for a basic 3 point lighting setup? they are only about £10 each, dont have the money to fork out on a complex lighting set up. http://www.wirelessconnections.gy/images/portable_worklight.jpg

Starting equipment - camera vs audio

Thanks Alcove, what you have said has definitely persuaded me to focus a lot more on the audio. I have considered hiring and rental, but as I am beginning I am more experimental and so have lots of things to try rather than one large project, I've gone for the Tascam DR-100 and now deciding...

archived-videos Check out my two latest Horror Shorts - feedback needed

I'd have to agree with dandevans, shot very nice, good lighting etc. but was rather generic horror convetion, axe wielding maniac come to slay gorgeous woman. That said, you seem pretty talented in the horror genre as in able to maintain suspense and keep the audience interested.

Starting equipment - camera vs audio

Hi guys new here, just had a few quick questions, I have read extensively among the forums of camera vs audio type threads, and the pros on cons have, but I am still rather unsure, and would be very appreciative if anyone could help me out :) basically, I already have a sony hdr camcorder, I...
