sorry, idk if this belongs here, or even on the forum. but i was curious to know your thoughts. who actually feels any satisfaction after completing a project, big or small. i'm still a noob, a one man crew, and everything is just about learning, so i'm bound to make mistakes, many mistakes...

if the family is in the same room then it would be 'yes we are' if not in the same room then 'yes they are' but a simple yes or no would suffice. or 'yes, from the lower east side' or wherever. if replied 'u know who i am?' then prob a tool not worth knowing.

tbh i would've had more walking and running if i could have. we did a test of for the route of the running but apart from that the other shots were worked out on the day. the end of the chase was improved completely in about 10 mins. it's a good problem to have but i had the use of set pieces...

so you will need to take a different approach. my last two shorts have been without dialogue. it depends on what the scene is about, what message you are trying to get across. you really need to have a story first or a particular scene and then it will be easier to help.

watch some documentaries and find a style u like. if its just one guy the u could put a wireless mic on him i guess. but idk someone else will have better advice on that.

u just have to use what u can get ur hands on and make films. u can only learn so much reading tips and getting advice places like here. u will only start really learning from making films. nobody expects your first ever short film to be of the level of professional production. well maybe...

i agree, start small. my first short was supposed to be longer. in the end it was 6mins and half the story had to be scrapped. even now i have an 11 page script and just not the time or funds or equipment to do it just now.
