But I do this every 3 months, so who's procrastinating now?

So movies are being made, except they're produced by you, not me. In some way, shape, or form, films get made because of me.

There you go - this forum has been accusing me of going in infinite loops, so I'm in good company.

By the way, one suggestion was to film the scenes. at a hotel But I think that, if a bunch of guys with cameras were to rent a hotel room for the day, they may be giving the wrong impression.

Rik, Was "Life of Brian" a TV series or movie? The producers were from their "Monty Python Flying Circus", but Circus was NOT a version of the movie, so I'm not sure if there was an adaptation. But I agree "Life of Brian" is one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. Muppet Movie may qualify.

I agree. I think a good example, which is not a straight-forward adaptation, would be taking Star Trek from the TV series to the movies. Of course, I'm a trekkie.

I don't need to blame anyone to procrastinate.

Actually, I have. I studied law in Montreal, which is a part of French-speaking Canada, and I knew many French citizens who immigrated to my vicinity and started restaurants. As I write this, I'm thinking of someone who did that in Ottawa, the capital of Canada where I trained to be a lawyer...

@sfoster, a professional sound guy would be critical, but I'm just starting. I think the read throughs and so on would take a hour, but, in terms of actual filming, I have no idea - it takes several hours to prepare a good meal and 30 minutes to finish it.

As discussed, I'm a pantser, so I write bits and pieces and put them together - I understand Stephen King and Mark Twain are pantsers. So these scenes will be odds and ends, but I presume that, the cast can be versatile enough to do these simple scenes and read throughs.

@directorik, no promises, but I may be in LA from February 19 - 21 for a conference, so I can come in a few days before to do ....... something I don't know what. Anyway, I'm in Roman mode now, because I'm reading on Jack Whyte's "Skystone", which is a retelling of the legend of King Arthur set...

Thanks, @directorik. Since these are simple read-throughs/rehearsals, which should be no-brainers for professional actors, I'm thinking of getting one actor for each character. When each character is being played out, the other two and I can just be extras. And the camera man will be filming, of...

budget How much to do these?

@directorik, I'm thinking of getting a camera man, so I know how it feels to have a camera pointed at me and others. I know someone who works in the industry and is willing to do it.

I'm in communication with @directorik, so the read-through is coming together. I may want to do it locally, since these are simple read-throughs and rehearsals. That said, I will be in Miami until the new year, so, if anyone is in the film community there and wants to do it, I may be able to...

I right books and I would like to make them into films well not me persay but find someone who dose that kind of things

I agree. Self publishing used to be looked down by the established authors and major book companies, but, with the online revolution and increasing availability of printing tools, that is no longer so. The same, of course, has happened not only to film but also to video game production.That...
