    question about being a producer

What is the difference between a regular producer and an executive producer? Money. One has it, the other doesn't.

    Financing a camera

Thoughts. Drop your camera and you'll find yourself banging your head on the wall every month there after. Buy the kind of camera you can afford to replace if you drop it in mid-shoot. There is ALWAYS something new coming out. You can't win that game. You need a camera that is reliable so you...

Without seeing the video, I wouldn't go with "strong language" either. Good luck.

who pays for more expensive indies to get made?

Somewhere along the line, someone convinced someone with money about the glamour of being in the 'movie business' and this particular script was the investor(s) in to the lifestyle of the Hollywood movie biz.

    > Indie Film Marketing & Promotion

Specifically this: "Let’s dispel the myth that distribution is 1) assumed to be handled by some other entity that will put in their money to do it; 2) assumed to be an endeavor performed with no money by the production on its own; or 3) assumed that “collaborators” will be found who will offer...

Brand logos in a documentary film

If it is "research", it is okay. For instance, the review of films, you can show clips provided you do a number of reviews in a set program. From your description, yes, I say you have "fair use" of images and voicing the company name, or showing the name in text. I'd avoid logos without clearing...

archived-videos What do you think of this promo? How much should I charge for something like this?

Marketing. This is the only difference between people who are making money and those who are not.

    Questions On Getting Into Filmmaking

Buy a cheap used camera with auto features you can turn off. Film some story ideas and edit them together, show to strangers. Accept all criticisms without getting angry. Make several more short films and complete them and show them to strangers. After you have COMPLETED several shorts, you...

    lighting Shooting with car headlights

Too many factors here. You should try to narrow down the problem. Does it make other night shots with conventional lights grainy? Daytime shots?

    Filming on a bus.

Don't ask. Shoot on the bus with a smallish camera, maybe popped out of a hole in a backpack. Have the actors mic'd before boarding. Practice the dialogue before boarding. Or do voiceover later. I've shot my feature film on buses and light rail, both in Seattle and Portland. Good luck.

You must be new here. I'm one of the chief baloney detectors and we get scammers here all the time. Besides, if you want to split hairs, you haven't furnished enough proof that would actually fly in court. Info at one of the links you provided was an apparent exact cut and paste to what you...

    lighting Shooting with car headlights

It is doable. Multiple cars and reflectors as well as diffusers will work. I've done this in my feature film. I've also used home made 12 volt light set ups with 100 ft extentions to run off car batteries. It doesn't get much talk in here because it's out of the box thinking. Good luck.

Why would you make that assumption? I made my comment to point out that others were enabling someone with a exploitive script, scammer or not.

Any film, porn or otherwise, shouldn't rely on exploitation -- misery to a marginalized population for big bucks to the producers. For that reason alone this person belongs in IT's Hall of Shame. I'm kind of a bit surprised some of you went along with this exploitation. :(

archived-videos Need opinion on this trailer.

Too long. I saw the length was going to be 2:15. Didn't watch it. Unless you're Warner Bros with a hoped-for blockbuster film full of hot Hollywood stars, limit it to 1 minute. Good luck.

cinematography What are good cameras for filming short films?

You do? Not to pick on you but would you recommend this camera and all it's headaches in getting the image into a computer for editing to a newbie?

    clearing cars and food product

Depends on how deep your pocketbook is. I'd never write things that depend on the whelms of other entities into a script. You're now in a position of weakness. Yep, start to work on the revision. Good luck.
