How should I write this court scenario?

OK Reveal: I got popped on a Grand Jury warrant once. First I heard of it, Two Guys in dark suits and wearing Aviators showed up at the door...

How should I write this court scenario?

That particular procedure doesn't even require the defendants presences. Only the prosecutor and HIS witnesses. There is no real life scenario in the US that doesn't involve a Trial short of a Congressional Hearing or family court hearing or possibly some nazi-like patriot act stuff.

    Documentary Project

I'm a writer just about to venture in to Film Producing. I'm not a Director. But I live in Hollywood and know a person or two so I'll share the advice I've been given from on high: If it ain't in a contract it ain't.

How should I write this court scenario?

The only way a defense attorney gets to question a witness is if someone's on trial. So lose the Flashback. if the story is about the witness and the way they're treated by the system, then the kidnapping itself is a Flashback, a catalyst if you will, and not part of the story proper. Besides...

INT. or EXT. in this circumstance?

Yes, you'd put it in a spec script. It eases the read, where as you are likely to break it into a series of INT. and EXT. shots to shoot. And no, you're not missing anything. You must do and not do all at the same time if you want to write in Hollywood. That's probably why I'm not sure if...

    Writing a Thriller

Ask Hitchcock. Oh wait-- he's dead. But if you watch his films, he'll answer anyway! Meantime, I'll take a shot: Psychological tension/stress caused by an unexpected turn in the course of the Characters life.

Would you read past this opening?

This is how I plow through quickly: A man and a women meet in a bar and go home toogether. INT. BAR A man and a women meet in a bar and go home toogether. {Obvious BREAK} INT. BAR A man and a women meet in a bar and go home toogether. [I asked myself what happens in between? Answer...

You retain all right in Legit contests. The Page Awards should be open for entry by now.

Would you read past this opening?

Don't stop. The important thing at this point is to get the story on paper. Many people bog down on one scene, or the first sentence of dialogue, or even a character's name. Keep goin to the end without reagard. Then read your story. THEN write a screenplay that's readable to others. Perfecting...

Would you read past this opening?

Also, you're actors will hate you for the parentheticals. Action should be written as an Elemental Action if at all possible. Actors don't like acting directions, yet you must please you're readers. Go figure!

Would you read past this opening?

You're way to descriptive in the set up. I know what a Marina looks like, it's not a spaceport somewhere. The bad weather is the only relevant thing, so the wind causing a cacaphony of noise is all I need. As it is, your script will be 100 pages but only an hours on camera. MORE WHITE SPACE...

    logline Opinion on Logline?

Not really a Logline. I'll I know is that some guy named Tyler(or maybe it's girl?) had a argument (all arguments are stressful) about something, presumably with someone else, and now his friends can't see him, So I guess he's invisible or maybe they all went blind? And I'm not sure if anyone...

How should I write this court scenario?

Let me lay one thing to rest: Having had the displeasure of dealing with a Grand Jury (in the US at least), there are no defense lawyers and the Jury members ask most of the questions, not the prosecutor seeking the warrant. Nor does the Judge have the ability to quash a decision made by the...

How long does it take you?

First one took 6 months, probably 15-20 hours a week. 5-6 years later, most recent one took the month of December, probably 30-40 hours a week. Now, on Dec 1st I cold pitched a theme, spent a week charting the story and another week writing a narrative, then wrote the script while turning...

How should I write this court scenario?

You are totally misinterpreting what I thought was obvious, so I guess the Writer failed to make his point. I'll try again, but it's like explaining how to shoot craps. Hard to explain, but easy to understand. You're talking about outcomes. That's the results of story. A different thing...

How should I write this court scenario?

There's an awful lot of "I did it my way" films out there. And a 100,000 writers with a million scripts and and a million directors with 8,000,000 films in the can collecting dust If he can't please an audience, then he's just playing garage band, and I refuse to believe that's what he's...

Second ones's not too bad, although it seems to say that only one brother is a merman, while the first seems to say both brothers. We can assume he's a human when he;s not a merman, so drop that. Also. the name "Herman Nicjhols" means nothing to me. He is simply a teenage boy. If you must...
