New member - Looking for a script about using facemasks in this time of the virus

I am a filmmaker. My film "Whispers from Poland" is in IMDB.

When I go through the city I am outraged with how few people are wearing masks.

The public is beginning to understand that masks are mainly to protect other people and not so much to protect the person wearing it themselves. People are beginning to have the attitude that if this is the case then why should I bother. This attitude is socially irresponsible and selfish.

I would like to make a quick Youtube video to shame people from that type of thinking.

But I don't have any ideas. Is there a scriptwriting organization that I can contact? Perhaps they can come up with a script that would shame people into wearing masks?

I have access to actors and equipment but no script.

I'm not sure that shaming people will work if they don't already care enough.

But leaving that aside, I'd keep it very simple and non-aggressive.

Perhaps you could show a nice, friendly person who really wants to help their neighbors.
The person brings groceries and runs errands for people who are elderly, sick, or disabled.
But doesn't wear a mask.

The person is shocked when (s)he learns that they have a mild case of COVID-19, and heartbroken to learn that one of these neighbors has now died of it - very possibly caught from the main character.

And the main character now wears a mask & gloves, and drops off groceries without direct contact.

You can make it caring and get your message across without turning people off. I think :)

Good luck!

This is perfect for our monthly challenge. And you can team up with a writer there, maybe even @mlesemann.

I cannot find face masks or gloves anywhere, and I'm sure that there a many in the same situation. I now wear a bandana or a "construction" style face mask (like for sheet rock sanding, etc.) if I need to go out. My wife and daughter are currently making some masks out of stretchable hem material, an old pillow case and an old towel. That way they can be washed right away when we get home.
