I have the same setup (T2i & H4). Have you installed Magic Lantern on your cam? It makes a world of difference as far as your audio recording options go.

Forget about slate, I was at a rock show where the lighting engineer was using his iPad to control his whole lighting rig! Color wheels on the iPad to control temp/color remotely....BADA$$.

Keep your green screen several feet back from the car and make sure it's evenly lit, with no wrinkles in the fabric. Don't just cover the windows with green fabric. Check all interior reflections for green screen spill. Then light your subjects separately.

Are you talking about audio mixing or mastering? 2-3 days for mixing sounds about right. 2-3 days for mastering is a total ripoff.

If you're field recording, get your hands on a Zoom or Tascam handheld recorder to capture your sounds. I use one of those to get my background tracks (wind, rain, traffic, crickets, etc.) If you're recording in the safety of your home studio, you will need some decent mics, preamps and/or...
