    Budget of 3500-4000

Would JVC HM100 be okay for something like this? How does it perform in very low level lighting? Maybe i could being some sort of light with us, or would that ruin the shot?

    Budget of 3500-4000

Seems as though maybe the DSLR isn't the best option for me then. Are there any other cameras you can suggest? Mostly there will be 2 people with me, but i don't really want to have 1 guy dedicated to audio. I was thinking of just having a shotgun mic on the camerea and a lav mic on myself...

    Budget of 3500-4000

That's so weird, cause i actually watched that Undercity documentary 3-4 days ago while randomly on Vimeo.. Didn't cross my mind to check the video details.. from his video: "Shot on a canon 5d mkii with canon 24 f/1.4 (version 1) with the zacuto rapid fire, Zoom H4N and a sennheiser g2...

    Budget of 3500-4000

Going to be an urban documentary. There will be a LOT of low level light scenes because a lot of the shots will be on city streets at night. There will also be a lot of building scenes and stuff like that (urban exploration) so we won't be able to set up a bunch of lighting since there wont be...

Is this even possible for an indie film maker?

Lets say you are shooting a low budget movie, and in one scene you are driving a cop car down the road... so you have a rented police prop car, and police clothing on... you have a lightbar on your cop car, but you are not going to be turning it on or using sirens... So how hard would it be to...

I have a cop who is willing to let me shoot a documentary with him on duty..

You think that would be good enough quality to be able to sell on DVD? Will it match COPS show quality?

I have a cop who is willing to let me shoot a documentary with him on duty..

I'm beginning to wonder if this is even possible with a 5000 budget... Luckily my cameraguy/dop has a lot of experience, and also knows how to edit and a jack of all trades... he will be able to shoot the entire documentary , edit it, put it onto a dvd and program the menus and make trailers...

I want to film it exactly how COPS is filmed.... and the same quality.. does that show also have a sound guy following the camera guy?

I have a cop who is willing to let me shoot a documentary with him on duty..

He has already gotten permission from his supervisors... my budget is 5000 to do this, just want to make a documentary on policing in vancouver,bc. Just need to know who i'll need to hire.... When you watch cops on TV, it seems they only have 1 cameraman and no other crew.... Who will i need...
