For sale - filmmaker's kit, Canon 7d, Rode videomic, Zoom recorder

This is a filmmaker’s camera kit. It contains a Canon 7D, two canon lenses, a Rode Videomic and Zoom H1 audio recorder as well as a camera bag. It was all used in the making of an independent feature film two years ago. The film, a drama made on a small budget, played in nine film festivals in...

    E&O insurance - lowest cost?

We bought our production insurance from the Film Emporium and they got us a good rate. They gave us the quote on E&O, and so far it's been less than anyone else. So we'll probably go back to them. They get good reviews from filmmakers. thanks

How my $50k indie project got to HULU

Late to see this post. TERRIFIC TRAILER! Personally, I think you should have made this as a feature. The acting and writing are very good. My opinion is people are more likely to buy a feature than get into a web series. But great you've made back your budget. I'll be interested to see if going...

    E&O insurance - lowest cost?

Hi, we have a feature film that has been picked up by a distributor who requires errors and omissions insurance. I've gotten a few quotes but the lowest is about $3,700. One was nearly $6,000. Does anyone know of a insurer who would charge less? The terms are ---- Limit: $1M/3M ($1M per claim...

Question about shooting with multiple cameras?

One great advantage of multi camera is for the editor. With a single camera shoot, continuity errors are constant. A character has his hand this way in take one and that way in take two. Three cameras solves that. Also, for the actors, it gives them a chance to concentrate on just the...

watch New micro-budget film accepted at Woods Hole Film Festival

Hi. We're filmmakers from Massachusetts with a film, THE GOD QUESTION, that we found out last week will premiere at the Woods Hole Film Festival in late July. We made this on a micro-budget, under $50K, and for nearly all of us, this was our first feature experience doing the job we did. This...

Anyone have any experience with The Film Collaborative or Distribber?

Joe - great post and crucial information. If a company gets too many posts like this, they're going to be out of business. I notice Distribber hasn't been accepting new films for a while. Maybe they have gone under.

Ditribution allowed - What does that mean

There are film festivals that allow you to have distribution going into it. Does that mean you can have distribution lined up but nothing is out there yet? Or does it mean you can have your DVD for sale on Amazon and Video for rent on iTunes? Thanks in advance.
