What about Blink (from Doctor Who Season 3)? I'm not sure if they used any POV shots, but they did the "creature moves when you're not looking at it" effect very well.

"Story by" generally means that someone wrote a treatment and sold it to a production company, who then hired a screenwriter to write the dialogue, ect., and that screenwriter gets the "screenplay by" credit. "Written by" means that the same person/people did both jobs.

My other option is just to take the guns out of the shoot entirely. It's not essential to the plot, and while it would be better with, I don't think it would be too bad as long as the audience can recognize the characters as soldiers.
