Good advice here, this is something I've been doing after struggling with scriptwriting for years. For me, the structure is the most difficult part, but I've found that if you read enough of other people's you can get a feel for the different techniques and work out what suits your story best...

Difficult situation - friends of mine have been in a similar position recently. My advice? Work with the guy to ensure it gets fixed in the most trouble-free way for both parties, if that doesn't work pay him and stick it down to a lesson learned. Find someone better next time.
