What do you think would make a perfect family Sit-com

We all know that Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Disney XD, etc, Have had some pretty bad sit-com's, But they also have had a few winners, but still... It's very possible that even a "Winning" show may not be one that has a broad enough appeal to attract a whole family to the TV screen.

So what do you think would make a perfect family Sit-com. (Yes, you can make a list. :D)

Are you talking about kids' sitcoms, or family sitcoms? There are (and always have been) plenty of very good family sitcoms on both sides of the Atlantic...

A native american family in suburban South Carolina. They have a small yurt, with a one horse garage between the Jones and the Smiths. Tune in weekly for their wacky cross-cultural experiences as the kids try to adapt while Mom and Dad struggle to run a small corn farm in the backyard.

OR

Somewhere in Kew Gardens Queens, the Yang family runs a Chinese restaurant. Until one day (THE FIRST EPISODE) their 2nd son creates the slice of pizza heard round the world- the Sweet and Sour Slice. The whole family's lives are turned upside down when the slice goes viral in "Kung Pao Pizza." A story about sticking to your past, while looking to your future.

Strangely specific + gag element + weird twist on existence= sitcom.

No matter what the premise it must have a cast with incredible chemistry; that's what makes most great sitcoms work.

And BTW, the "bad" Disney, Nickelodeon, etc. sitcoms make millions. Why? They know their target audience. Those shows are good enough for preteens and tweens, that's all the quality they need.

Basically A type of sitcom that could be eligible to air on a kids channel, but that would appeal for the whole family.

I Love this!!! Very true on that last part.

WORD

Again, WORD!

Btw the reason I'm asking this is because I have been planing to make an internet sit-com for the entire family, And I wanted to survey what people like to see in a sit-com.

But surely 'family' sitcoms don't air on kiddy channels like Disney, as the market for those channels is not families? If a show is only funny to kids and tweens, or teens, then by definition it's not a family sitcom.

The best true family sitcom ever, of course, is The Simpsons, and that's on Fox... In my extended family, everyone aged 2 to 72 regularly sit, watch and enjoy that show (or the early season reruns before it became boring, anyway) - those early seasons work on every level.
