Well, I would think that it might grow the reach of the forum, and thus benefit us all in terms of networking. I'll tell you what, I'll pitch in the graphics and make the YouTube videos (with an audio visualizer and web jpegs cued by conversation topics) if someone else does the audio interviews. Might be even more interesting if you just did skype interviews. That's two new places where new people can find out that Indietalk exists, the podcast community, and YouTube.
What might be smart, in terms of creating benefit for those of us that are already here, would be to mix in interviews with forum members. The net result would be introducing other film people to our community, introducing our community members and projects to others (such as Mara's scripts, Obilquevoid's arthouse cinema, Buddy's CS tutorials, etc (too many to mention)), and simply creating another route of ingress to this site.
It's not unheard of for a weekly podcast, or YouTube interview show, to get sponsored eventually, via Patreon or similar, so it might have financial advantages once established.
I've thought in the past of creating a monthly "best of Indietalk" but I'm pretty busy, and it's not really my place to do so.
Anyway, I second Dean Jay's proposal. Maybe if the individual videos were kept short, say <10 minutes, it wouldn't be that much work. IT already has SEO locked down, so that's more of an advantage than most podcasts start with.
@NickClapper runs a podcast, so I think he might have some insight into the ups and downs.
Many hands make light work, maybe if several of us pitched in it wouldn't be that difficult to get going.
