Will the Panasonic AG AC130 be up to it?

I want to know if the Panasonic AG AC130 will be any good shooting football? (please note its real football not American)

It depends on what you're going to do with the footage. Just take it home and edit it for the mums and dads, yeah sure why not. Probably overkill.

For Cable TV? I thought most of that was 50/60fps for sport broadcasts. I see that the camera does 60fps in 720p (but only 60i in 1080p) so check what resolution and speed it needs to be.

Its going to be football (known as soccer in other countries i believe). The footage will then be made in to highlights roll and then distributed on the internet or made available to buy on DVD, I was thinking just 1080 25p, but maybe shooting 50fps 720 will be better as when I do replays it will be smoother. Its for a senior amateur league team, its basically to get experience and to get content for my colleges live TV show.
