wide-angle lens

I'm looking to rent a wide-angle lens for the digital EOS I'm using to make my next short, but I've seen a lot of different "wide-angle lenses" with both .7 magnification and .8 magnification. I don't want any sort of fish eye look, just wondering what kind of lens I need to be getting that will give me that good widescreen look.

You should be fine with .7. I used to use a .5 with my first camcorder.

I got 10-22mm Canon lenses and it worked awesome for my purpose ! It is super wide but I'm not sure for what kind of look you are going .
