White Room?

On one of my last music video's I tried to make a white room, as seen in Nothing and the Matrix, but failed misserably. Does any one have any advice on a proper way to do this? Below's a link to the video, I tried a couple different lighting scenarios, I had 6 1K's, 4 650's, two keno's, and two lights that I can't remember the name of(they're very bright and you can trim the edges to cut people out...) I can see from the footage that I obviously had to much movement with the camera, going back and looking at the movies mentioned above I realize that there isn't very much dynamic camera work, but besides that, can any one give me any pointers on where I went wrong and what I could do to do it right next time?

There's a bit of a intro on here too, the "white room" is after the '20s intro

It would take some time, but if you want to save this video (keeping the original concept), you can rotoscope those walls and floors out, in After Effects. Not sure how much time you wanna put into it, but it can be done.

As for attempting this again, in the future, I think you've got the right concept, but just didn't excecute it properly. I've never done this, but we had a similar conversation a while back, and I believe the standard method is to simply put your subjects in front of white paper. The background needs to be perfectly-lit, and washed-out, and the subject needs to be far enough away that they won't cast any shadow. Your situation is different, because we can see the floor, and I think that will require a little more effort (I'm guessing either an expensive set, and/or a lot of work in post).

Thanks Mr. Funk, the video's already released, and I didn't have the time or the finances to go to after effects with it. The band likes it though.... so I guess it works, I was looking for help for future reference.

Do you know if it's proper to back light your whites or just blast the sides from the front? I was told to back light every thing, but I seemed to get better results from just blasting the walls down the sides.

Thanks for the advise!!

Yeah, cinenatography is really not my forte, so I'm not gonna try and comment more than I already have. I tried to find that other thread, where it was discussed in detail, but I don't remember the title of the thread. Hopefully, someone else will remember, and post the link. I mostly just wanted to comment that it can be fixed in post (though, like I mentioned, it'd be very time-consuming).

I'm glad the band liked it. I mean, the video's kinda supposed to be silly, anyway, right? So, I think the look you got works just fine.
