I'd suggest getting a kit of 3-4 fresnels. Fresnels are already colour correct and they're incredibly versatile - put a gel in front of them to change their colour, put a frame (or a gel) in front of them to soften them, put a soft box on them to soften them differently...

You can always soften a hard light, you'll never get a soft light hard. So to speak..

Hi RoJo - if you need 3 "500W equivalent" 2-bank fluorescents, I recommend you get 3 of these and save yourself $300.

But if what you really want is affordable "500W equivalent" LEDs, you can get 3 of them for about $50 less than the price of the fluorescent kits you're looking at:
