Call for entries- Film and Short Screenplay Competition


Film Festival Competition

The Waterford Film Festival is back and will run between the 6th-8th of November. We are now accepting films to consider for this year's competition and we also have a new screenplay competition.

Submission Fees:

Feature Films : 20 Euros early deadline July 31st
25 euros late deadline September 2nd
Short Films : 10 euros early deadline July 31st
15 euros late deadline September 7th
Screenplay competition: 10 Euros entry fee : Deadline August 17th

SHORT FILM COMPETITION- CASH AWARD

Finalists will have their films screened during the festival and on the last day an overall winner will be announced and a cash prize of €600 will we awarded as well as a certificate. 2nd place certificates will also be awarded. The Waterford Film Festival will consider entries all genres of films of less than 20 minutes (we will consider a minute or two leeway for credits). Filmmakers worldwide can submit their work. Foreign language films must be dubbed in English or have English subtitles. Films produced from January 2006 onwards will be considered. Please note: We are not considering Short Documentaries this year.


Best Feature Film

We welcome all genres of feature films. This category is divided between fiction and documentary. We will be screening features films over the 3 days. There will be a certificate award presented to 1st and 2nd place in each category. The Waterford Film Festival will consider entries form all genres of films over 45 minutes in length. Filmmakers worldwide can submit their work. Foreign language films must be dubbed in English or have English subtitles. Films produced from January 2005 onwards will be considered.

Short Screenplay Competition: - Cash Award

There will be 20 Finalists, each will receive a certificate and on the last day of the festival, an award of € 600 will be awarded to one overall winner. The winning writer will also be able to meet up with a professional filmmaker to discuss the development of their script and to discuss opportunities in getting their film made.
