Voice Dubbing Software

Can anyone recommend some good voice dubbing software? Software that allows you to easily and quickly play a clip of video for the actor, record audio (from a camera that's plugged into the computer rather than a computer microphone which usually has questionable audio quality) from the actor, and place it over the clip of video?

Any DAW will work, and most NLEs have that function as well. If it's straight VO there's no problem at all, except that the quality of the camera mic or an external mic using the cameras audio signal path will yield substandard results.

If you're doing ADR it's getting the sync correct that is the challenge. You can do it the old-fashioned way, doing it over and over until the actor gets it right (looping); you can "slice and dice" or manually edit; or you can take advantage of plug-ins like Vocalign.

BTW, there are quite a few budget level USB mics that sound okay for the price. The Blue Snowball, Blue Yeti, Audio-Technica AT2020USB, and the Rode Podcaster all do an okay job. Any mic can be plugged directly into a computer with a USB adapter like the Blue Icicle.
