Hi,

I am working on behalf of www.urstreams.com and we have just launched a film festival. That sets out to showcase innovative and original films to the world. We are looking for the best upcoming filmmakers/directors around to send in their films to the site and have the chance of winning some great prizes such as winning a commission and having your film shown at some of the major film festivals from around the world! We will be uploading peoples films every month and any films that are uploaded will be entitled to 50% of the revenue from advertising when your work is shown.

that's outrageous to ask 50% shared revenue

I'd rather put my film on Amazon for 50% shared revenue!! I think it's horrible to ask the filmmaker to share 50% of the revenue cost. Distributors like that should never get more than 15/20%. If you do your job with as much passion as we did ours, then you wouldn't have to ask for 50%.

I'm distributing my film on my own... that's 100% of the revenue, and i'm making a living with my own film, goodbye distributors. You're going to be lonely soon.

Sorry, but we feel that the 50% revenue share is acceptable as it is not the only thing that we are offering to people who enter. Getting your film uploaded on the website is only the start as the winners will win the chance to Have their selves heavily promoted on the website and having the chance to be seen at some of big festivals around the world (e.g. Cannes). We are also offering the winner the chance to help make a completely new film on commission as well.

We are very passionate about watching and making films and we are just trying to give people the opportunity to break into this extremely tough market with the expertise and opportunities that we can offer.
