Can anyone recommend some companies for equipment hire in the UK?

- I'm looking for Tripods, Panning Heads and Camera Stabalisation mainly.
- 'Up North' would be ideal.
- Indie friendly.
- A good website would also help.

Picture Canning North. They're based in Hexham Northumberland and they are part of the larger Picture Canning hire group that services the industry in the South.

I've only ever used them for camera hire, but they were wonderful, and if they can't help you they'll know who can.

You might also try TTV in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. My ex-business partner swears by them.
