two of my short films got invited to screen

A festival director called and told me that because of Brokeback Mountain's success, 2 festivals in TX asked him to help put together a small program of films that he would recommend from his festival selection, so he called me up and asked if I would allow Playing for Keeps and A Joker's Card to be shown at South by Southwest Film Festival (in March) and the Austin Film Festival (I think it's in Sep or Oct). No charge for submission, it's IN. :)

So, I am excited, the wave of a feature film (the great hype is heading) is helping me with 2 of my short films as invitational shorts to a program part of 2 larger film festivals. :)

Of course, you never know what other film festivals would do for you, small or big, the festival organizers usually talk among each other and it would aways help promote one's film.

Just as A Joker's Card gotta a distribution sales rep to take it to Cannes Film Market and such, it was all because of another film festival that recommended my film to him.

thanks knightly.

Btw, I wanted to make a point on this thread, is that no small festival is ever SMALL, because it can help you garner publicity and more screenings. Although AJC has been in several festivals and conventions, it was 2 small festivals that gave it a major boost, one, giving me a sales rep. and the other, putting me into SXSW and Austin Film Festival
