Hi guys I'm a Television Commercial director who is currently undertaking my first Microbudget Feature, I've directed campaigns for Levi's, Mitsubishi, Alcohol companies and others and have decided now is the right time to get this feature up.
The story is a very basic cross of Sci-Fi and Drama (Sci-Rama) and will focus on the human connections in the film. No cheesy CGI just a few well made props and small details in the dialogue to give it that Sci-Fi twist. This along with a very well written script, think "K-PAX crossed with "The 25th Hour"
This is the story below.
"Vessel"
Ash has the power to communicate with ET's, a gift he needs to be stripped of by the end of the day or risk succumbing to its side-effects completely. This power is beginning to make him one of them - incredibly calculating, but devoid of any human emotion. He gains valuable time by ingesting prescribed sleeping inhalers which keep the symptoms at bay, but are quickly losing their effect as he grows more and more tired. In turn, he downs sachets of coffee to offset the inhalers, while trawling through the city meeting old acquaintances. It's through these human connections that he collects the pieces of the past that keep his emotional muscle working (a photo, a song, a piece of jewellery). By the end of the day his hope is to find a former interfacer like himself, rumoured to live in the city and that has rid herself of the gift permanently.
Basically I've written and hopefully with your help will produce and direct this film mid this year. It's loosely based on the talents of Sergeant Clifford Stone. For those of you who don't know who Clifford Stone is, he was a member of the US military who was employed to interface and communicate with Extra Terrestrials on their behalf. You can read up about him on the net.
It's only an $8000 budget but I'm calling in every favour from my industry to get this up and going so a lot of what I'm getting done is for free. Plus I have a knack for getting the most professional look out of my budgets. But having said that most of the funds will go into equipment, insurance and craft services. My production and post production crew are locked in, and soon my cast should be. We have a great lead actor and hopefully some profile names to play some supporting roles.
Below are the links to the facebook and IndieGoGo page, my work as director, what I can achieve with a Canon 5D which we'll be shooting the film on and an example of my main actor in action.

So hopefully guys we can get some support on this, we already have interest from some other film communities who will be doing an interview with me in a couple of weeks. It's not a big budget so it is very doable and we don't usually get a huge amount of Sci-Fi films that deal with the humanity of the people involved as most are of stuff being blown up. So spread the word amongst the community and maybe we can do the same thing for Aliens which "Primer" did for time travel and that is reveal a connection between us and the unknown.
Cheers,
Adam
