To showreel or not to showreel

I have a selection of footage, music videos, shorts, promo vids and soon an advert, is there any point in putting all these together or should I wait until I have more shorts and ads since that will be my primary focus from now on?

Best thing to do is make a showreel of between 1 and two minutes: best pieces first, downhill from there.
Then whatever you make next will have to be your best piece, and comes in first, and you worst piece gets dropped.

Yes I would agree with Santhem's statement; it's a continuous update, better to just start creating your reel now so that later, you'll have a structure onto which you can place better material.

You can always begin it. I picked a track and stuck it on the timeline, and gradually built my shots into it until I was happy.
