"The Rise" is about conveying the love and passion some has for this very dangerous sport. I would love to here feedback on the video as we are always trying to improve. "The Rise" is a action sports documentary.

Haha this is such a massive project. We will be two years in the making. We are shooting in 2K and we used DSLR's just for the teaser. The teaser took about a week to get shot and edited. We will probably be touring around the U.S. and Sweden. Thank you for the comment :) Does the video in the forum work?

No, I followed the link to your website, but yeah, and often for me its about having a great subject matter rather than having all the greatest gear. that said, i do love a beautiful video haha

and seriously, if you find yourself shooting in Minnesota, or the midwest at all for that matter, please do let me know, I'd love to be involved, this looks like a very cool project

Embed youtube videos by copy&pasting just the jibberish after the equals sign in the address bar between https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= and [/yt ] <---minus the space, of course.

Opinion: it doesn't look so much like a documentary as it does a chronicle of a day's snowmobiling with some cliché "dude waking up" sprinkled in.
Granted, the doc itself may NOT be just that, only the trailer appears to be communicating that.
FWIW, the gopro stuff DOES look nice.

Thank you so much for the replies. We take everthing into consideration. Our main goal of course is to attract all demographics, not just the snowmobiling one. Lets face it, that would be a very small audience. Any more suggestions?

The visuals look fantastic.

Ray touches upon an important point though, at the moment it just looks like a snowmobiling video- cool, but the sort of thing you'd find on YouTube.

Documentaries are not that different from narrative films, because they too have to tell a story. Your snowmobiling movie might well have that narrative arc- decide they want to take the trip, take the trip, learn life lessons- but we need to establish the characters and their motivations for doing it. Cool GoPro filming will only get you so far, we need drama, tension and a dependable narrative as well.
