I bought and watched this direct to DVD production.
I found it to be looser and slower paced than the original Lost Boys. It's not bad as a DVD rental or a TV movie. But, it doesn't have the character, the tight story, and great sound track of the original big screen production.
It ends with a hint of a sequel. I'm just the guy to buy the sequel too--good or bad.
