Greetings all, I suddenly realized I had not visited or posted on this site in over a year! Oooops.
Any whoo, I thought I would let you all know that my latest indie feature, The Dogfather, will be available in all the usual movie retail outlets in the USA on Jan 18th. NetFLIX, Amazon, Blockbuster, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and VOD, etc. It just premiered on French TV over the weekend, and several other foreign territories will soon follow with their own broadcasts.
I shot this the Summer of 2009 in Parry Sound Ontario with a crew of about 75, two Arri 535 systems, and one 435. My DOP was Denis Maloney, ASC, and the film stars Chris Parnell from SNL & 30 Rock. I was also film editor and completed my post in May of 2010. This is also the first time the British bulldog has been used in the lead role of a "dog" movie. I was told by numerous trainers that the breed was not suitable for a feature film, well we made it work and the star dog was brilliant!
There's a trailer on IMDB should any one care to watch. I cut this trailer myself for a one time use at a film festival and some how it ended up being the official trailer. Which is a bit of a shame because we could of done a much better job. Here it is anyway:
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi200972313/
Fortunately I had zero problems selling this one, as there where multiple bidders for the US and Canadian rights. It's always nice when that happens.
So now I'm onto feature number three. More on that later.
Thanks
Richard,
