THE DARKEST MOMENTS CAN REVEAL THE DEEPEST TRUTHS

What:
The independent feature film Sandstorm depicts the horror of torture faced by Falun Gong practitioners in China today, while delivering a message of hope and inspiring audiences worldwide. Sandstorm, which has won 29 awards at film festivals over the past year, exposes the tragedy currently unfolding in China as millions of people who follow the Falun Gong spiritual practice are persecuted (many to death) for standing up for their traditional moral beliefs and basic human rights. This film seeks to explore the compelling truth hidden behind Communist China’s great wall of propaganda. NTD Films UK Co-ordinator, Simon Gross will answer questions for audience members after Sandstorm’s UK premiere on Saturday August 27th, at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Digital Film Festival screening.

Film Synopsis:
The Darkest Moments Can Reveal the Deepest Truths
Trapped twelve days in a massive sandstorm in China and running out of food and water, a policeman cares for his dying wife as they grieve over the loss of their daughter who was caught in the storm. In this isolation and confinement, the policeman's conscience emerges as he is haunted by memories of his role in the vicious persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. As the policeman oscillates between his current fear of starvation during the storm and his greater fear of his past, the storm outside is nothing like what he has to face within himself...
