archived-videos T2i w/ML & VisionColor Music Video

I had a lot of fun shooting this for my friend Hope. We shot with my trusty T2i running Magic Lantern and the VisionColor picture styles. I also used my 5ftx7ft reflectors from Digital Juice and a cheap slider from ebay. Cut with Premiere. The lake we shot at had a lot of boats that day, so they all had to be removed using AE and PS. I graded using the Osiris LUTs, Colorista II and FilmConvert Pro.

I like that picture style, does it look about like that right out of the camera or did you do a lot of tweaking afterwards?

Very crisp images and the color seems a lot nicer than say with the Cinema picture style.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'm definitely going to stoke it up in the old T2i.

Nice video too by the way.

I used two of their styles to do this. All the lighting/exposure/white balance is set using VisionColor Cinelook. It's a great style straight out of camera, looks amazing, but doesn't give you much room for tweaking. So I have Magic Lantern set up to switch over to VisionColor VistionTech when I hit record. This gives me a nice, flat image that also happens to be optimized for the VisionColor LUTs like the Osiris pack. When I stop recording, it the camera bounces back to VC Cinelook.

I used one of the Osiris LUTs as a primary grade, then juiced it up a little with Colorista II before passing it through FilmConvert for a Kodak Vision 3 look.
Cinelook looks pretty close to this straight out of camera, just a bit more saturated and contrasty.

Here's a still I took with Cinelook, to compare it with what I did in the video:
