SURVEY: What did your distributor do for you?

Indie distribution is changing fast, especially since the economy stumbled back in 2009, and more and more consumers are buying media on the Internet (not in real physical stores). So I'm wondering has anyone inked a deal with a traditional distributor lately? What did they do for you? How many mom & pop physical stores did they ship hard copy DVD's to? How many chain physical stores (like Best Buy) did they ship hard copy DVD's to?

Or did they unfortunately only stock your title in "virtual stores" like Amazon and iTunes?

What about rentals? Anyone can get into NetFlix's system WITHOUT any help of a traditional distributor. So did they get you into Blockbuster store shelves? Any mom and pop shelves?

Next time will you do-it-yourself or will you continue to use the middleman distributor?

No. I am self-dist. as of now, and I am already selling through Amazon.com which is through the store I work for, and my own site for the movie where one can buy a copy thru paypal.
