I am only an amateur director, never have gone to school and have only made 2 films. However, my 2nd film was just released last night. It is a film inspired by the Star Wars Expanded Universe. It is a full feature length fan film (which is now rare for Star Wars fan films). It has a 'coming of age' feel to it as well as mass-combat at the end between numerous Jedi & Sith.

Thank you so much! Its been so crazy in the last month, I just am relaxing and taking a breath at this point. I am not sure where fan film has a place on your boards, but I think there are even more amateurs without training (like me) that have put stuff out there. I hope this board's experiences with fan film past, present & future are mostly positive. Take care!
