Sony DV Computable Manufacturers/Cameras

I am looking to buy a backup DV camera. I have generally kept to Sony partly because I have a Sony deck and I have had problems playing tapes shot on kit from other manufacturers (especially Canon). Does anyone know what other manufacturers DV is computable with Sony DV?
