Short Documentary about job precarity and youth unemployment - € 500 - URGENT

Hi

We are a young video production studio in Rome.

We are working on a web-documentary about issues of job precarity and youth unemployment in Europe, with a focus on workers in the cultural fields such as teachers, journalists, researchers, artists.

Our aim is to produce six short documentaries, each shot in a different European country, and focused on a particular aspect of the problem.
Two documentaries have been already produced and shot , the first one shot in Italy and explores the job precarity in the theater, and the second one in England: it tells about the attempt of a group of activists to imagine a different relationship between life and work through the renewal of a covered market in Brixton, London.

Countries that now we are going to tell are Greece, Spain, Portugal and Ireland.
For this reason we are looking for an independent filmmaker each of these countries, able to follow the entire workflow of productive work, from concept to completion, which implement a short documentary / interview lasting 12 minutes.
The documentary will follow closely the experience and the life of a cultural worker that struggle to make a living of their profession in today’s circumstances, interviewing and following in the significant places of his work and of his city.
We are interested to focus attention on those cultural workers who previously had some security due to their work in the cultural and intellectual fields but that, with the current economic crisis, have seen changed their perspectives.
What impact has this in their lives?

The video will be shot in full HD, and will have a budget of € 500 + VAT.
Any music must be original, royalty-free.
Projects must be submitted as soon as possible by email to n.giorgi@alterastudio.it.
The dossier to be sent must contain a presentation of the documentary, a brief introduction on the protagonist of the documentary, the curriculum of the filmmaker (possibly a link to your portfolio/showreel), and a simple shooting plan with the estimated times for the completion of the work.
In case they are selected, documentaries will have to be manufactured and delivered by October 31, 2012.

This first phase of the project will be followed by another one : the most valid filmmakers , will have the opportunity to make a longer version of their documentary, with more time available for production and a budget of € 2000.

All documentaries will then become part of a web project, which will include several interviews with persons working in precarious jobs across Europe, a large section of the documentation, spaces UGC, forum and contacts.
