Shooting in Germany

I will be filming in Germany for 2 weeks in April. Is there anyone with experience filming in Germany or more specifically, Dusseldorf and Berlin that can give me a heads up on things there. We are a two man operation. We can strip the camera to the barest essentials. Will I require a permit to film in a high traffic area? How strict are they. Is the permit process expensive or difficult? Any advice you can provide with regards to Germany as a whole will be appreciated.

Warm regards,

John Keating

I believe we've got some indietalk members from Germany, hopefully they'll chime in here.

Only advice I can give you is have a good time, and enjoy some of the wonderful things Germany has to offer -- beer and castles come to mind immediately.

I would appreciate that. At the moment I was hoping to find a business district where folks in suits and business attire would be walking in both Dusseldorf and Berlin. Other locations include any local monuments and areas that characterize each city as a backdrop for our subjects.

Hi,
I'm from Germany and I have filming experiences.
Tomorrow I will send you a pm.
What exactly do you want to film in germany?
