archived-videos Shadow of the Crow (Neo-noir short)

I thought it had a lot of good qualities. A little too much handheld that kind of doesn't fit the noir aesthretic, more stationary composed shots or a slider/steadicam rig would have done wonders. Also, and I am in this boat with you, the way DSLR handles the high contrast isn't the best. For example in the streetlight shot in the ebeginning it looked cool, but would have been even better if we saw the glowing filament in the light rather than just a white blob, but hey film is out of most of our budgets. That said. not bad.

Thanks a lot man! Yeah I had a lot of trouble with the DSLR, especially when portraying a noir-style film with harsh shadows, but I think the end product came out very nicely in the amount of time spent on it. I agree that I should've used a tri-pod, but mine was broken at the time, so I had to make do with what I had.

Also, I shot a film on 16mm last October, which was a lot smoother. Check it out if you have the time! It was a requirement for my film class for it to be silent, so don't tell me it would be better with sound effects haha.
